Rules and Guidelines

12 Guidelines you must follow

  1. The Braidwood Baseball and Softball Assosciation expects that all players and their parents adhere to acceptable standards of behavior. BBSA managers coaches serve a vaulable role and will not be expected to put up with conduct that is detrimental to the instruction and participation of the team members. Such misconduct will be dealt with severly. Umpires can require that the offender be removed from the premises. Failure to vacate premises will result in a forfeit.
  2. Swearing, loss of temper, bearting other players or umpires, unsportsmanlike behavior, or any action that does not represnt the best interest of the BBSA will not be tolerated.
  3. Players must remain in their dugouts during the course of their game, except those performing duties required in the game and except those excused by their manager or coach. Non-team members are not permitted in the dugout.
  4. Players who are members of a BBSA team are expected to be consistent in their attendance at practices and games. Practices or games should be held a minimum of 3 times weekly during preseason. Attendance is contributing factor in the amount of game time a child recieves. Manager/ Coaches may petition the BBSA Board to dismiss any players who fails to attend an acceptable number of practices and games.
  5. Dismissal from a squad for attendance or behavioral problems can take place only with the BBSA Board approval. A grievance process is contained in the By-Laws.
  6. All male players must wear a protective cup to participate in games.
  7. Parents are responsible of the transportation of their child to and from practices and games. If you are unable to stay for the practices or game, polease wait until such time as the manager or coach is present. Sometimes, it is impossible to notify all parents of cancelations.
  8. For reasons of personal safety, a child's name is not permitted on any exposed part of the uniform or cap.
  9. BBSA Equpitment is to be used at only practices and games.
  10. BBSA uniforms are to be used only for BBSA games and special events.
  11. Failure to turn in uniforms or equiptment may result in your child being barred from team membership in subsequent years. You may also be required to pay for the replacable article.
  12. Failure to pay all moneys due for the year will result in you child being barred from team membership in subsequent years.
